The Rusland & GOS Tafel is a meeting place for professionals interested in Russia and other former Soviet countries at the Industrial Grand Club in Amsterdam. The table committee organizes around 6 networking events a year. Most often one or more lectures are given followed by optional dinner in the club restaurant. It’s a great mix of business and pleasure. In addition once a year on the 13th of January the Old Russian Newyear is celebrated. This event draws around 450 guests.

I have been part of the organizing committee for several years. This website was my farewell gift. Event announcements can be added easily and dinner reservations can be made with iDeal payments. Visitors can also subscribe to the mailinglist that is made with YMLP.

Stad-Forum is an independent commission that advices the Amsterdam city government about questions related to urban planning. It’s members represent a broad range of expertise; from architects and planners to social and cultural entrepreneurs.

In its current 1.0 phase the website creates an online presence for the commission and collects its social media streams. In the future the stad-forum.nl aims to go 2.0 and become an online forum in which solicits advice and feedback from Amsterdam’s citizens on questions related to urban planning and the future of the city.

Museum Geelvinck Hinlopen Huis is a small museum in the center of Amsterdam, located in the famous 7 bridges district.  It’s an traditional canal mansion from the 17th century with 2 buildings and a secluded garden in between. The museum is currently repositioning itself as a venue for interior design, synthesizing the traditional architecture with modern design. This blend of the old and the new can also be listened to in their Sunday concerts that feature contemporary artists playing on traditional, often centuries old instruments.

The owners are a charm to work with as they really put a lot of effort in their digital communication. The website is expanding very quickly. The aim for 2012 is to rebuild to website in HTML5 , so its content can be incorporated into a mobile phone application that will expand the experience of a museum visit.
